e-Lyco - large scale deployment of digital learning environment in France

e-lyco is an ambitious French project which aims to offer all high school and college students from the Region of Pays de la Loire, and their parents and teachers, a common digital work environment by 2014. Organised collaborativly by the Rector of the Academy of Nantes, the region of Pays de la Loire, the five departments of Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire, Mayenne, Sarthe and Vendée, this project also includes private and agricultural educational providers.

e-lyco is unique in that it applies to a very large number of institutions and students and plans to be open to all secondary schools and private associations and agricultural institutions in the region which includes 732 schools and 321,000 students. Deployment is gradual and has already begun in 2010. Find out more from the e-lyco website.
