Ambitious new plan for Australian schools now underway
In the context of the Digital Education Revolution (DER) initiative of the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, a highly ambitious new plan aims at investing $2.4 billion to support the effective integration of ICT in Australian schools. This initiative will be executed jointly over a four year period by The National Secondary School Computer Fund, the ICT Innovation Fund, The Online Curriculum Resources and Digital Architecture Initiative and the Surveys of Broadband Connectivity to Australian Schools and TAFEs. On May 31st, government announced that the initiative aims at developing high-quality digital resources to support online delivery of curriculum, interoperable ICT systems and digital architectures that enable school users share collaborative materials across ICT platforms, develop policies and protocols. Find out more from the DER website.
