A half day meeting of the VISCED International Advisory Committee took place on the morning of Wednesday 28 November in Berlin. The agenda for this final IAC meeting included a presentation and discussion about Key and Critical Success Factors for virtual schools and colleges. It also provided an opportunity to review teacher training and most importantly, policy challenges, opportunities and recommendations for the future in a session led by Barry Phillips the policy analyst at Sero. The traditional IAC dinner was held the evening before, with a new innovation of a Guest of Honour – in this case Professor Gilly Salmon, a leading international light in online learning.

Meeting of International Advisory Committee taking place in Berlin

A half day meeting of the VISCED International Advisory Committee is taking place on Wednesday 28 November in Berlin. The agenda for this meeting will include a discussion about Key and Critical Success Factors for virtual schools and colleges, and will be based in the outcomes of several project reports. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss policy challenges, opportunities and recommendations for the future.

The next meeting of the International Advisory Committee and invited guests of the VISCED porject will take place on Wednesday 30 November in Berlin. This whole day meeting with serve as a guide to the project's work to date and will in particular comment on questions to do with policy as the VISCED research team turn their attention to national virtual schooling strategies.

International Advisory Committee (IAC) member Morten Flate Paulsen from NKI Nettstudier in Norway, together with colleagues from Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm, and the Danish School of Media and Journalism were the recent winners of the Boldic Award for their unique Scandinavian online course on Multimedia Journalism.

The first meeting of VISCED's International Advisory Committee (IAC) took place on Wednesday 14 September as part of the pre-conference activities related to the EFQUEL Innovation Forum which took place 14-16 September 2011 in Oeiras, Portugal.
